University of Natal

King George Avenue – From the top of Jubilee Gardens, the University offers a spectacular view of the City Centre and the bay. The beautiful white-domed Howard College building forms the original core of the Natal University College and is a declared national monument. The father of Howard Davis, an engineering student who was killed in World War 1, built it as a commemoration. The university has a second campus in Pietermaritzburg.
