Karkloof Canopy Tour

In a section of indigenous·forest in the Karkloof hills, 17km from Howick, is an aerial canopy tour, taking visitors on a  series of ‘foefie-slide’ type rides through the forest  canopy.  This adventure takes about 3 hours, and visitors can see a  range of indigenous forest trees and a wide variety of forest birds, insects and other creatures.

During 1964 the Midmar dam was built 3km above the falls and provides an excellent inland water sport centre with a shoreline of 60km.  There also is a replica of an old Victorian village that includes houses and an extensive transport exhibition as well as a game reserve.
